ABOUT US

Who Are We?

At Musafir, we are more than just a label. We are your trusted companions on a journey of exploration and self-discovery. Musafir, which means ‘traveler’ in Hindi, is a testament to the indomitable spirit of Indian craftsmanship, a tribute to our rich heritage, and a beacon of hope for a brighter, more ethical future.

Redefining Indian Luxury

We aim to redefine luxury by infusing traditional Indian aesthetics with contemporary design. Our mission guides the modern traveler through the rich details of Indian culture, making every journey meaningful and memorable.

Eco-Conscious Crafting

Every Musafir creation is produced in small, intentional batches. Our fabric sourcing is limited per collection, with unused materials preserved for future redesigns. This mindful approach ensures that every piece is made with care for both you and the planet.

Affordable Luxury for All

Our pieces are priced under $350, making luxury accessible to all travelers, regardless of their destination.

Empowering Artisans

We partner with a small, ethically-run factory where all workers are treated equally and paid fairly. This extends to the production of our garment bags, tags, and labels.

Packaging with Purpose

Our garment bags are crafted from lightweight muslin fabric, inspired by Indian household traditions of protecting cherished items. They bridge the gap between classes and reflect unity among Indian families.

You Are Part of The Process

Each clothing tag includes a hand-illustrated sketch by the head sketch artist, showcasing the designer’s vision and the creative journey from concept to completion.

A Touch of Tradition

Our tags are double woven, a technique traditionally used in luxury clothing since the 1830s, combining modern elegance with the legacy of timeless craftsmanship.

Our Founder – Rahul Wadhwani

From a young age, Rahul has always loved fashion. He started styling at age 10, experimenting with his mother’s wardrobe, driven by dissatisfaction with what the market offered. After attending fashion school and freelancing in the industry, he discovered significant ethical problems within fashion’s glamorous facade. He distilled his core values — family, humanity, culture, and timeless style — into Musafir’s foundation. His hope is that every design inspires customers to be inspired, creative, and most of all, free.
